For Credit Internships
The College of Business has multiple internship courses for Business students to enroll in. Please take a look at the requirements and application instructions for each below. All internship courses require students to obtain an internship prior to applying to the course. Applications are due prior to the semester start.
Management, MAN 4940 Internship course - All Business Majors are welcome to apply
Intern Requirements:
- Obtain an internship that lasts the complete semester.
- Be fully admitted into the College of Business
- Have above a 2.5 GPA (3.0 for graduate students)
- Be a Junior, Senior or Graduate student
- Have taken MAN 3025 and 2 additional 3000 or 4000 level Business courses (undergraduate only)
- Non Management majors must have available College of Business or Free Elective Credits (undergraduateonly)
Internship Requirements
- Internships must be at an organization that the student is not currently working. If the student obtains aninternship in another department at current employer, significant learning opportunities must exist.
- Internships must be the length of the semester (13-16 weeks)
- Student Interns cannot be managed by relatives
- Internship credit is based on the following criteria:
3 credits = 18-25 hours per week (recommended)
Application Process:
- Summer 23 applications due May 1, 2023
- Fall 23 applications due August 7, 2023
- Spring 2024 applications due January 2, 2024

Health Administration Practicum, HSA 4817 - Required for Health Administration Majors
Requirements:
- 2.5 GPA
- Must have taken core classes in health administration
- Completed 33 credits of upper-decision level
- Find volunteer or internship opportunity in health care field
- 9 hours/week (Fall and Spring) or 12 hours per week (Summer)
Application Process:
- Attend an orientation with one of the professors (Dr. Palkon and Dr. Alexandre) prior to enrollment
Hospitality Field Experience/Internship, HFT 4941 - Required for Hospitality Majors and Minors
Requirements:
- 1000 hours of hospitality work experience over last four years: Majors
- 500 hours of hospitality work experience over last four year: Minors

Management Information Systems Internship, ISM 4940 - MIS Majors
Requirements:
- Completed 9-12 MIS/OM credits
- Have secured an internship with an employer that is related to MIS or OM
- Receive permission by the professor
Application Process:
After you secure an internship, email the professor teaching the course the following information about your internship offer:
- Name and address of the company
- Name and email/phone number of your direct supervisor (if not known at the time of the offer, the name of the person who made you the offer)
- Time period you will be working as an intern
- Short description of your responsibilities

Marketing Internship Courses, MAR 4940, MAR 4945, and MAR 4946 - Marketing Majors and Minors
Intern Requirements
- Obtain an internship that lasts the complete semester.
- Be fully admitted into the College of Business
- Have above a 2.5 GPA
- Be a Junior or Senior student
- Have passed MAR 3023 and at least 1 additional 3000 or 4000 level Marketing (MAR) course
- Declared Marketing as your major
